The final season of Game Of Thrones has brought more twists and turns than any season before…but not in the way we were expecting. We are now halfway through the season, and the death count has been surprisingly low. Don’t mistake us, we were sad to say goodbye to a few of our heroes in Episode 3, The Long Night. But this is Game Of Thrones, after all. Fans were expecting the Red Wedding. But the Battle Of Winterfell claimed less than 10 main or secondary characters. Something is definitely off.
While some fans were disappointed by the lack of carnage, we here at Fiction’s Mistress are as excited and as scared as ever. After all, we still have 3 episodes left to go. It wouldn’t have made sense for the series to play their hand halfway through the end of the final season. There’s still a lot to come, and if you have any doubt, just ask Kit Harington.
That’s right, Jon Snow himself has spoken up about the episodes to come, and apparently, Episode 4 is one of his favourites! When speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Harington didn’t hold back.
“One of my favorite episodes is 4 because the characters have seemingly got what they needed. The world is safe now. They’re celebrating and saying goodbye to lost friends. But as an audience you’re going, ‘This is only episode 4, something’s going to happen.’ And that’s the cool thing because I think the characters are aware of this as well. There’s something twisted and uncomfortable about it. It’s so Shakespearian.”-Kit Harington
The White Walkers may be dealt with, but they still have to face Cersei and her army, which currently stands at over 20,000 strong. The war is far from over, and if we had to guess, we’d say we haven’t seen the worst of the deaths yet.
The Final Season Of Game Of Thrones Airs Sundays At 9 On HBO.
