The most anticipated movie of the year, Avengers: Endgame has finally landed in theaters, and there are a lot of mixed emotions going around. While critics and audiences alike cannot stop raving about the film, fans cannot help but feel a sense of melancholy. The way this film is being marketed, in both the trailers and the way the cast talks about it, there’s an air of finality around this film. Certain stars, including Captain America himself, Chris Evans, have announced that Avengers: Endgame will be their last Marvel film. If some of our favourite heroes are putting on their suits for the last time, what exactly does that mean? Is this the last Avengers film?
We’re not here to spoil the Endgame for you. After all, the entire Avengers cast themselves have begged fans not to give away any spoilers!
Part of the beauty of this film is the fact that you never know what will happen next. So, we can’t tell you how the film ends, and we’re not going to elaborate on anything that happens in Avengers: Endgame. But here’s what we can say.
Marvel Studios have spent the last 10 years building up this film. It was all about the Endgame. But this is not the end, not for everyone. We may say goodbye to a few of our heroes, but that isn’t necessarily a sad thing. The MCU is much different than it was before, it has more heroes than we could have ever imagined! Earth’s mightiest heroes are growing in strength and numbers, so it might be time to pass the torch, to start a family, or maybe just to take a break!
Marvel hasn’t yet confirmed if this is the last Avengers film. It very well might be. But like we said, there are a lot of heroes in the universe, and any of them could join the Avengers full-time in the future! Avengers: Endgame isn’t actually the end. More than anything else, it paves the way for new beginnings, and offers a sense of closure. And for now, that’s all we can say.
