Whether you’re a die-hard or casual Marvel fan, there’s a good chance you’re seeing Avengers: Endgame this weekend, if you haven’t seen it already! Countless theaters are sold out all over the world for the fourth, and what some are saying is the final Avengers film. Endgame is not only the most anticipated film of the year, but the most anticipated Marvel film of all time! It has already earned over a third of a billion dollars just from Wednesday and Thursday screenings, well on its way to hitting the top spot. But one question that everyone seems to be asking is about the post-credits scene, and if there even is one!
Marvel has become known for their post-credits scenes. Every film since Iron Man has had at least one, but often two. One is usually lighthearted and there for a good laugh, while the other teases where the MCU is heading next. In fact, we were teased about Thanos early on in The Avengers post-credits scene! But rumors are saying Avengers: Endgame doesn’t have any scenes after the credits! Many are wondering whether or not that’s true. Well, we have the answer.
We saw Endgame on opening night, and sat through the credits so you don’t have to. If you’re going to see the film this weekend, there’s no need to watch the credits. Endgame doesn’t have any post-credits scenes.
This has a lot of people wondering where the fate of the MCU lies. The Marvel post-credits scenes have become somewhat iconic, a tradition that every Marvel film takes part in. But honestly, Endgame didn’t need one. Without spoiling anything, what we can say is that the fourth Avengers film wraps up our heroes’ stories beautifully. When the movie ends, we aren’t left wanting more. The post-credits scene would counteract that, and in the end, it would have been more of a distraction than anything else.
This all being said, if you are seeing the film this weekend, I’d stay for the beginning of the credits. There’s a beautiful tribute to all of our favourite superheroes, and to the actors who brought them to life. But after that, you’re free to finally run to the bathroom, like you’ve probably been wanting to do for the last three hours.
