‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Features An Entirely New Opening Credits Scene

This is the first time in the history of the series they have ever changed this sequence!

The eighth and final season of HBO’s hit fantasy series, Game of Thrones, has finally arrived, and is already delivering the twists and turns it’s known for. From King’s Landing all the way to Winterfell, there is so much happening in the Seven Kingdoms. But one of the most surprising things about the Season 8 premiere? The opening credits!

We all know the Game Of Thrones theme off by heart. And just as we could all hum the music at a moment’s notice, we all picture the beautiful title sequence along with it. For the past 7 seasons, that has been our one constant. Sure, the locations have changed, along with the sigils depending on which House resides in which castle. But the design has remained the same. Until now.

For a very monumental season premiere, the very last season premiere that Game Of Thrones shall ever have, a new title sequence has emerged. The tone is still very much the same, but it is more detailed than ever before. The artistry is nothing short of stunning, giving us a closer look into each castle in the most beautiful way imaginable. The effects team really outdid themselves with this one.
