We here at Fiction’s Mistress grew up on The Addams Family (1991). It’s so wonderfully weird that it’s impossible not to love. Perfectly cast, the actors had breathtaking chemistry. They truly felt like a family, which is why fans were a little hesitant when it was announced a new Addams Family was coming.
The first trailer for The Addams Family, an animated film, dropped on Wednesday morning, and fans still seem pretty skeptical. But from the looks of it, this may be geared more towards kids than adults! The family still retains their kooky and morbid nature, but it’s noticeably more lighthearted than the 1991 film. And honestly, if it’s done right, we could get behind this! The cast is star-studded, to say the least. Charlize Theron voices Morticia Addams, with Oscar Isaac voicing her husband, Gomez. Wednesday is voiced by the wonderful Chloe Grace Moretz, and Pugsley is voiced by none other than Stranger Things‘ own Finn Wolfhard! If anyone can pull this film off, it’s these four. Consider us intrigued.
