Lena Headey Is ‘Gutted’ Over Missing The Final ‘Game Of Thrones’ Premiere

The actress was unable to travel due to being sick.😢

The world premiere for Season 8 of HBO’s Game Of Thrones took place on Wednesday night in New York City, and the red carpet was lined with fans and stars alike. Both current and former members of the massive cast made appearances, but one who wasn’t able to attend was the Queen herself, Cersei Lannister, AKA Lena Headey.

Headey was unable to travel due to being sick, as she explained in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon.

This is an emotional absence for many reasons, but especially considering that this is the final season of the hit fantasy series. To miss this premiere is a serious blow. But of course, that isn’t stopping fans from making the obvious jokes! We all know what happened last time Cersei Lannister missed a big event after all (cough cough, wildfire, cough cough)!

Headey, along with other stars of the show have teased how emotional and epic this final season is. And while we love to hate Cersei, virtually no one wants to see her end up on the Iron Throne. And based on an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, it looks like she won’t! Headey admitted that she was the 12th person to wrap on set, and that seems a little early to us. But we’ll have to wait to know for sure.
