We Are REALLY Worried About Steve Harrington In The ‘Stranger Things 3’ Trailer

If you're as big of a fan of Babysitter Steve as we are, you are NOT ready for this image.

The first official trailer for Season 3 of Netflix’s hit sci-fi series, Stranger Things, dropped Wednesday morning, and there is a lot to be excited about. The trailer had its fair share of troubling moments, of course, but it was filled with equally lighthearted clips. From Eleven and Max being best friends to the surprise party that went horribly and hilariously wrong, there were plenty of moments that are guaranteed to make you smile. And of course, we can’t forget about Steve and Dustin! Their bromance seems to be stronger than ever in Season 3. In fact, from the looks of this trailer, things seem to be going pretty well for Steve Harrington! Until the end.

As the trailer nears its final seconds, the clips flash so quickly that it’s nearly impossible to discern everything that happens. But we took some time to dissect it, and now we really regret that decision. Because upon doing so, we came across this incredibly disturbing image. Babysitter Steve fans, you may want to avert your eyes.

If you gasped, clutched your chest, and mentally prepared yourself to write a very long, passionate letter to Netflix, you aren’t alone. Steve’s redemption arc and growth last season was one of the best we’ve ever seen. He went from being an unlikable high school jerk to a kick ass babysitter who stole all of our hearts. We have no doubt that Steve Harrington would die for those kids. But that doesn’t mean he should!

Steve looks like he just got pummeled, which, now that we think about it, seems to happen a lot. But not only that, he’s being injected with something, and it looks horrifically painful. What is he being injected with? Why? Who is injecting him?

Last season ended with Nancy and Jonathan exposing Hawkins Lab and getting them shut down. Eleven closed the Gate to the Upside Down. All of their enemies were, at least temporarily, defeated. But Stranger Things 3 seems to be bringing a whole slew of new bad guys to the table, and we don’t know a lot about them yet. But if we had to guess? We’d say it’s one of these guys who’s hurting Steve.

Or maybe Billy’s come back for more. Who can say for sure? All we do know is that if anyone fatally wounds Steve Harrington, the fandom will rally. Netflix, you’ve been warned.
