Disney’s ‘Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil’ Just Got A Brand New Poster And Release Date

Disney fans, it's time to get excited, because

2019 is going to be a major year for Disney. We know that sounds like old news (it is Disney, after all, what year isn’t major for them?), but they truly are pulling out all the stops this year. The highly anticipated Captain Marvel just flew into theaters, with the long-awaited conclusion to Avengers: Infinity War, dramatically titled Endgame, set to hit theaters just 7 weeks from now. Oh, not to mention Toy Story 4, Frozen 2, Artemis Fowl, The Lion King, and the live-action remakes of both Aladdin and Dumbo are also hitting theaters this year. And, of course, we can’t forget Star Wars: Episode IX.

But Disney isn’t stopping there. No, they’re rounding it out to a nice even 10 films for 2019 with the release of the sequel to Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie. The film, titled Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil, was originally set to hit theaters May 2020, but has been bumped up to the much closer release of October 18 of this year. Why the major jump in release dates? Disney has yet to confirm, but we’re not going to complain! Along with a new premiere date and title, Disney also released the first official poster for Mistress Of Evil, and unsurprisingly, Jolie looks as amazing as ever.

Mistress Of Evil sees the return of Elle Fanning as Aurora and Sam Riley as Diaval. Harris Dickinson will be playing Prince Phillip, and perhaps most exciting of all, the sequel has added none other than Michelle Pfeiffer as Queen Ingrith! We can’t wait!

Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil Hits Theaters October 18th.
