Trailer Watch: The First Full Look At Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Is Here

And yes, we see Will Smith's blue Genie!

Perhaps you, like we here at Fiction’s Mistress, were having some serious doubts about Disney’s live-action Aladdin. We’re not going to lie, we were hesitant to talk about it. The first look at Will Smith’s Genie was slightly worrying (and not at all blue), they changed the entrance to the Cave of Wonders from a tiger to a lion, and the overall look of the film was seeming…well, we’ll just say it. Cheesy. But after tonight, we have to say, a lot of our faith is restored.

On Sunday, February 10th, AKA the night of the 2019 Grammy Awards, Disney released a special, 1 minute sneak peek of the live-action film, and we have to admit, we’re starting to get really excited! Things are looking a little less cheesy and a lot more magical! The costumes are mesmerizing in their vibrant colors, Jafar is still, interestingly enough, quite distracting in his attractiveness (seriously, it’s a vibe). And, last but certainly not least, Will Smith’s Genie is actually blue!! Ask and you shall receive. This live-action version of Disney’s Aladdin is looking better and better by the second. A film that originally had us cringing now has us more excited than ever!
