Brie Larson Started Training For ‘Captain Marvel’ 9 Months Before Production

The amount of work Brie Larson put into this role proves just how much she deserves it!

There is a lot of weight on the upcoming Captain Marvel film. And no one knows this better than Brie Larson, who takes the honor of playing the title role very seriously.

Brie Larson, who plays Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel herself in the upcoming and highly anticipated film, began training for the role 9 months before shooting started! And from this short featurette, it really shows! Take a look.

Larson not only built up muscle and strength for the role, but learned how to fight. So, while she of course had a stunt double, we’re willing to bet she performed a lot of the stunts herself! That is something Carol Danvers would do, after all.

Captain Marvel is arguably the strongest and most powerful superhero ever. As she’s said herself, she’s here to end the war, a feat she can accomplish all on her own. The fact that she’s the first female superhero to lead her own Marvel film only makes this more exciting. And from the look of things, she actually gets some air time! This is huge considering that Carol Danvers was an Air Force pilot when she was back on Earth! And according to the directors, Larson really brings a sense of authenticity to the role, which makes us even more excited to see where she takes it.

Captain Marvel Hits Theaters On March 8th.
