‘Captain Marvel’ Writer Joins Marvel’s ‘The Vision And Scarlet Witch’ Team

If you were worried about Marvel's upcoming TV series, you can put that fear to rest.

The MCU is expanding in a major way thanks to the upcoming launch of Disney’s very own streaming platform, Disney+.

If you were a little hesitant upon hearing the news that Marvel would be developing TV series’ about some of our favourite heroes, believe me when I say you weren’t alone. While I can’t get enough of Daredevil or Jessica Jones, for example, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. was one I could never get into. But Marvel is pulling out all the stops for their new series’. From a show all about one of our favourite Asgardians, Loki, to Bucky Barnes and Falcon fighting side by side, Disney/Marvel is going all out. And The Vision And Scarlet Witch is no exception.

For those of you who don’t know, Marvel is currently working on a series for their streaming platform all about, you guessed it, Scarlet Witch and Vision. In many ways the star-crossed lovers of the MCU, Scarlet Witch, AKA Wanda Maximoff, is one of the more powerful Avengers. She can manipulate certain aspects of reality, or, in simple terms, has the abilities of both telekinesis and mind manipulation. Something that she once used for evil, but now fights bad guys as an Avenger, just like anyone else. Vision, also one of the strongest Avengers, is the combination of JARVIS, Ultron, and an Infinity Stone, coming together to become something more than a peace initiative, as originally intended, but an actual being with a mind of his own.

The two started to become closer in Captain America: Civil War, and their relationship flourished for two years, as we discovered in Avengers: Infinity War. That is, of course, until Thanos decided to snap his fingers.

The ending of Avengers: Infinity War makes it unclear of when exactly the series will take place. Though the return of our favourite superheroes is unconfirmed, we’re almost positive we know exactly how Marvel intends to undo Thanos’ snap, and in turn, his carnage.

Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, and Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch, are expected and all but confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming series, and excitedly, Jac Schaeffer has officially been hired as the showrunner for the series. She is one of the writers of the highly anticipated Captain Marvel, as well as the upcoming untitled Black Widow film! It’s also confirmed that she will be writing the pilot episode of The Vision And Scarlet Witch!

As is to be expected, the new year is bringing many exciting new things from Marvel. And we can’t wait!
