Captain Marvel is easily the most anticipated film of 2019. Even more so than Avengers: Endgame! Why? One, because Captain Marvel is the strongest superhero in the MCU, capable of defeating Thanos once and for all. And secondly, Captain Marvel is a woman.
Played by the amazing Brie Larson, Captain Marvel, AKA Carol Danvers is originally from Earth, where she was a fighter pilot. But in a freak crash, she lands on Hala, a planet inhabited by the Kree. This is where she gains her powers, and where Captain Marvel is truly born.
Many believe that the Quantum Realm will play a part in Captain Marvel getting her powers, as we know that it will be a major factor in Avengers: Endgame. But that’s still just speculation at this point. Thanks to the latest trailer, however, released on Monday night, we have a lot more insight into the plot!
It’s the 1990s. An alien race called Skrulls are invading Earth, and they have the ability to shapeshift at will, making them near impossible to identify. For humans, at least. That’s where Carol comes in. She’s here to end the war, and we have no doubt that she could do it on her own! But despite this, she’ll have the help of Nick Fury and Agent Phil Coulson! Whether she will have the help of the Kree is currently uncertain, but we will see plenty of them in flashback sequences. This trailer also gives us a better look at Mar-Vell, played by Jude Law, who trains Carol and helps her learn how to control her new powers.
There is so much about this movie to look forward to, and we honestly don’t know how we’re going to wait until March!! Watch the new and exciting trailer for Captain Marvel down below.
