Back in December, Netflix, as they always do, released a little tease of what we can expect to see hit the streaming platform come January 2019. And at the end of it all, we surprisingly saw a glimpse of the one and only Frank Castle, looking ready to punish again. Though they didn’t give us a specified release date, they did confirm the show would be arriving sometime in the first month of the new year. And while we still don’t have official confirmation, Netflix did grant us a short look into Season 2 with their first official teaser!
In the teaser, we see only The Punisher, and little of him. Instead of his face or even his vest, we see a piece of paper. More specifically, Frank Castle’s pardon. This one piece of paper gives Frank his life back. Or at least, as much as possible. Dinah Madani fought to convince her superiors to grant Frank this pardon at the end of Season 1. And what does Mr. Castle do with it? He burns it up.
It seems The Punisher is ready to put Frank Castle down for good. But what his mission is, we’re not yet sure. We know Billy Russo will return in Season 2 as the twisted Jigsaw, and apparently there will be some political villains as well! But that’s about the extent of our knowledge. All we know for sure is Frank is donning the vest again. And we know what happens when he does that.
Rumors on the internet are saying that we can expect Season 2 of The Punisher to premiere on January 18th, but as of right now, that remains unconfirmed. But whether it’s sooner or later, it will definitely be this month. Stay tuned.
