Trailer Watch: Our First Look At Netflix’s Haunting Horror Movie “Apostle” Is Here

Autumn is fast approaching, which means that the time of cozy socks, pumpkin spice, and horror movies has arrived. And Netflix is taking full advantage of it, as can be seen with the trailer for one of their latest horror films, Apostle, set to stream mid-October. And boy, does it look freaky.

Apostle stars Dan Stevens and Michael Sheen, and is all about a religious cult. Consider me hooked already. The cult, led by Sheen’s character, has taken Stevens’ sister, and so he travels to their remote island hoping to find her. But what he uncovers in the process is far worse than he could have ever imagined.

Honestly, there isn’t a single second of this 2 minute trailer that won’t have you shivering and looking over your shoulder. Apostle is sure to have its fair share of gore, but it’s more than just a horror film, it’s a psychological thriller. And undoubtedly, it’s rooted at least somewhat in truth. Cults are a very real thing, as we all know, which is one of the many reasons this film looks so haunting. I, for one, can’t wait to see what they do with this. October can’t get here fast enough.
