DC Movies Trailer Watch

Trailer Watch: The Enchanting First Trailer For ‘Aquaman’ Is Here And It’s Adventurously Bold

This may very well be DC's most visually striking film yet!

Ah, the DC Extended Universe. Every year, or should I say, every film comes with two things: excitement and criticism. Some are wildly popular and well received, such as Wonder Woman, some spark disappointment and even anger, like Batman v Superman, and then there are those that leave everyone a little confused, like Suicide Squad. No one can really make up their mind when it comes to the DCEU. To be honest, sometimes it seems the DCEU themselves can’t make up their minds. But after the fantastically stunning success that was Wonder Woman, it seems the universe may be finding their voice. And Aquaman, from the looks of the trailer, at least, is going to continue that success.

The first official trailer for the highly anticipated superhero film dropped during San Diego Comic-Con, and fans are going wild for it. The visual effects alone are awe-inspiring. Many are already declaring that Atlantis will be the DCEU’s equivalent to Marvel’s Wakanda, and we have to agree! This film is going to be incredibly visually striking.

From the trailer, we can already see a noticeably lighter tone than we’re used to seeing in DC movies. This will either be Aquaman’s strength or weakness. Done right, it could help to bring the DCEU to greatness. But done wrong, jokes will fall flat and the atmosphere will feel too forced. It’s a fine line they walk, but if the trailer is any indication, this movie is going to be absolutely, out-of-this-world fantastic. The film stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
