Sophie Turner Just Confirmed When Season 8 Of “Game Of Thrones” Will Air

Game of Thrones fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the eighth and final season of the hit fantasy show, but it looks like this is going to be a longer wait than ever before. In an interview with Variety, star Sophie Turner, AKA Sansa Stark, talks about her excitement for the next few years between X-Men: Dark Phoenix, set to come out in November 2018, while Game of Thrones “comes out in 2019.” It’s been confirmed by the Lady of Winterfell herself. We aren’t getting any new Game of Thrones next year.

This isn’t a total shocker. The showrunners warned us that we’d have to wait a bit for Season 8. But honestly? Maybe that’s a good thing.

As its final season, Season 8 will be the biggest of them all. And with so much to cover, namely the final battle against the White Walkers, this season has the potential to either be the best season yet, or the worst season yet. I’d much rather they take their time filming it, making it as perfect as possible. And don’t forget that each episode is set to be close to two hours long – that’s feature length! Yes, we want more Game of Thrones now. But the longer we wait, the more epic it will be.

And think of it this way: the longer we wait for the final season, the longer we wait until we have to say goodbye to the show for good.
